Pick up service was a surprise - when we got into Ulan Bator by the Trans Siberian. Services were first class, very helpful staff. Booked a trip to the country from them, worked as it should.

Nicely located near the centre and the train station. The place had a friendly atmosphere but this was probably because it was a little cramped. There was only one internet working but cheap internet cafes nearby.

Idre is a very "friendly" and smart businessman as long as you fulfill his expectations: we didn´t book the tour in the countryside he offered and that´s why he kicked us out of his hostel immediately although we had arranged a reservation via internet for two more nights. So, if you want to make your own decisions about spending your time in mongolia, he is definitely not the right place!

Idre`s Guesthouse is mainly a travel agency. If you don´t book his Tours, he might not accommodate you any longer. Although we had booked 3 nights, we had to leave the guest house after one day, because we decided to rent a Jeep at a professional agency. Just opposite the guest house, there is the Hotel "Topaz". There you can find in a lovely atmosphere a better double room for the same price!

I arrived at the hostel and I was told that the room that I had booked(single/ensuite) was not available, so they put me in a six bed dorm. They would not reinburse my deposit of 16 dollars so in the end I had to pay double-32 dollars. On the second day I was there two backpackers did not take a tour so the owner kicked them out of the hostel. The place was clean and you had access to the internet. However, I would consider the owner to be a cut-throat manager and a thief.

We had a GREAT time at this guesthouse. The staff is superfriendly and helpful and always smiling. We would definetly recomend it! Finding a cleaner place is probably not possible, they were cleaning almost all the time.
