- “ I've been to moonpad a few times because I like the great location which is central to all major public transportation. The staff and management really have been stepping up their management and organization. I see more and more improvements each time I visit. The outside of the house is being remodeled and they just opened a guest house in back with extra bathroom, kitchen, waffle maker, coffee and hang out space. ”

- “ the thing I liked the most was the atmosphere and location. The Moonpad hostel was very close to the Subway. Free waffles in the morning and awesome hang out BBQ spot in the back. Would recommend booking because its a great value for your money. ”

- “ If you want to enjoy your stay in LA, choose another hostel!!! Even if the location is quite central, it was one of the worst hostel experiences I ever had. I got an airbed lying on the floor which deflated itself every night! Terribly uncomfortable. Staff tried to be friendly but the atmosphere in general was unfriendly (other guests) and very loud surroundings. No real possibilities to relax. Kitchen equipment very poor, no space in fridge, promised breakfast non existent. Unclean in general. ”

- “ The MoonPad has a great vibe very good energy with the people and staff. Jay was the one that helped me out and he was a great staff member. MoonPad is super close to the city and subway. The Metro is across the st super convenient for getting around the area. What I loved was seeing the development of the property. I heard that they just opened up and they are still adding really awesome creative art and furniture to the space. Oh and Derrick the founder is so chill very nice guy! ”

- “ I think they need to charge more money so they can raise the level of service. I told them to do this and they did it the next day, so lets see if they can come through. They dont have pancakes in the morning, which sucked, but other than that, its a fair bargain that needs a little more effort to be just right. ”

- “ The MoonPad is a great place to stay in LA. The staff and atmosphere is very comfortable I kinda wanted to stay in and enjoy the vibe when I was suppose to be out sight-seeing. There were a few things that I liked and loved. First & I think my favorite was the fact that the place was very clean, you can tell it gets deep clean every day. Also, the Metro Gold Line is STEPS AWAY! So getting around was super ez! Oh and dont be afraid of Dipsy and his hair color, he is an artistic raver, and its LA! ”

- “ nice staff, nice people but terribly hard beds and matresses - felt like sleeping on a piece of wood ”

- “ Owner tries to renegotiate your dorm rate higher after you've booked it online and have it in writing. I thought that was "shifty". Facility wise it's in transition. Not everything works very well, especially the baths. Limited hot water. Ask you to wash dishes, clean the bath, etc, but charge $5 cleaning fee when the hostel is cleaned only three times a week. I've no problem with the owner being "gay", but some paying guests did because his friends are constantly there, sometimes partying. ”

- “ I enjoyed my stay at the Moonpad. The house itself is really beautiful, and it's the only hostel I've been to that's got a theme. It's still in the development stage, so they are still working some of the kinks out, but the staff is super helpful and will answer all your questions and listen to any suggestions. I love the direction they're going in, it's a very creative space and has a great atmosphere. It's right off the gold line and the 30/330 bus, so it's convenient to get to. ”

- “ The only nice thing I can tell about the hostel are the clean bathroom. When we arrived in the evening they could´nt find our reservation, room wasn´t ready and the whole house smelled like Marihuana. We left the hotel and stayed somewhere else! AWEFUL! ”

- “ Was charged an unlisted $5 cleaning fee when checking in. When chatting to other travelers, most of them were not charged this fee. I have traveled to many hostels in different countries but have never been so blatantly ripped off like at this particular location at Moon Pad in LA. ”
