- “ Perfect location, good staff, kitchen and restaurant. Good heating, superb view from the room's balcony. However, there is no shop in the village and this hostel is the only one that has no breakfast options. If you don't bring breakfast, you have to buy it from another hostel. There are no safety boxes or lockers so you cannot lock away your stuff. There is a restaurant where you can have dinner that was quite alright but it doesn't open until 5pm. ”

- “ This Backpacker is well located, a bit far from the real center, but good to do some hikes to the nice spots around Mount Cook. The room is a bit old but functional and very safe. The major drawback was the lack of breakfast facilities. They have a great kitchen with good menu for dinners, but do not do any breakfast. That is a bit unfortunate, as there is no grocery store in town and when leaving early on hikes, the only option is the very very expensive hotel breakfast at the village center. ”
