We are guests in the Youth Hostel for about 10 years. You cannot expect for that little money a splendid hotel, but we like the staff. They are very friendly and helpful. Baba Rose from the Netherlands

Hostel ok! Was picked up at the airport and they arranged a safari for me so I didn't have to worry about anything as all was been taken care off.

I was more than satisfied with the Nairobi Youth Hostel. With downtown Nairobi just a short matatu ride away, staff who were always friendly and helpful and the kitchen's chipo (french fries) whoch were more than phenomenal, I would definitely recommend the NYH to any would-be visitor of Nairobi.

Stayed four nights - two nights there was no running water at all (nice after a 30+ hour flight) and the other two nights, the water was like ice.... This place needs a bomb lit under it, so they can start again from scratch. Staff were friendly, but not the most helpful

Very helpful trip/taxi organizer. Almost non-functional showers/bathrooms.

This hostel is in a good location for the city centre. The food at the canteen is extremely good value for money. It's not the place to come if you want to meet fellow travellers though, as it's mainly full of local people who work in Nairobi in the week or long-term volunteers.

The washroom had no hot water and the light was out of order on the third floor. I complained but not improved. The Dorm room was noisy. The receptionist was not nice to traveller but the manager was okay.

I found the Mnager, James, extremely welcoming, which cheered me up lots after a tiring flight. There was not much information on what to be able to do in Nairobi and where to go etc, which would have been helpful. Can do Safaris from here. Definitely a lack of hot water - only one shower had this. Found the location good because it was just outside the main city centre so you could get away from all the noise and grime! Thank you very much for the welcome and help that you gave me during my stay. From Rosemary
