My first impression of this hostel was not very good, everything was kind of vague and I had to move to another room for one night because of overbooking.. The building is at the end of Nathan road so you're at the star ferry within minutes!! Rooms are very very small, but really clean! Lot's of foreigners in the neighbourhood, in a good atmosphere. I really enjoyed my stay in New Chung King, and the guys who run the hostel are really friendly and answered all my questions~~

I booked New Chung King Hostel but the receptionist took me to a room that was under a different hostel name and it was awful. I've stayed in hostels all over the world and have never felt the need to check out early but it was definitely worth the extra money to change to a cheap hotel that wasn't in Chung King Mansions. The smell was horrible and in the entrance from the street I didn't feel safe. The location is excellent, but the staff were not great at English and not very approachable.

Wonderful!!!I booked the Single Room but the hostel give me Double Room for that night with the same price.Well Management!!!Kind Manager!!!Fit For Female Backbackers.

Staff are nice and place are neat.Cheap and good our backpackers.
What we want to say is we really enjoy staying here because of the responsible staff.Rooms are not big but is extremely clean and quiet at the night.Hostel Ground Floor is so messy but this hostel is safe enough and I would recommend it.

Even though I didn't encounter any difficulties, it seems like the staff don't always recognize internet bookings, so be prepared to find another hostel/hotel if you do that. Also, the "24h check-in" is just bull, don't go there in the morning... Not good, not reliable, but it's cheap.
