New International Guest House in Kowloon, Hong Kong

Very helpful staff, paricularly good e-mail that came with the booking confirmation with a warning of the touts downstairs. Also very helpful in getting us on to the airport bus across the road. Small room, (as expected) but very adequate. Adapter plug supplied which was a bonus. No hassles with the WiFi. Felt safe even when travelling with a child, (once we got past the melee downstairs.) We had a Triple room (couple with 13 yr daughter.)

The owner was in very bad mood and i could not figure out why she was upset. I felt it is about the touts pestering coming to the building. The touts and agents in the ground floor is a really problem. Room is too small and if some one has a claustrophobia problem, you may not choose this place. There is no security except for a lady staff who looked quite depressed herself. I was told that for the amount one can find more acceptable place, though the information in Hostel.com gave a rosy pic

Dear Abdul Hameed, Thank you for your comment. Why you gave us such bad feedback,cause we refused to return the 10% deposit US$6 you paid to website. You booked 1 single room for 3 nights.When the day you check in,you told us either to make price reduce or to count up 10% deposit balance US$6 for 2nd and 3rd day as the rent for the first night,because you only want to stay 1 night with us,we refused. Next day,before you check out our hostel you said to us you are going to throw mud to our hostel,if we insist not refund US$6 you paid to website. Great place to stay, clean, has a lock on the door and the staff are very nice. Just like the other reviewers, the hustlers in the lobby gotta go though. Just keep a keen eye out for your goods and never leave your valuables in the room. Beware of pickpockets in the lobby. David, from USA ~ 12th Jan 2009
