Best hostel I've stayed at - full stop. Take the tour of the pyramids offered by these guys and you are able to get the nick-nack people off your back and have the trip you want to have.

I enjoyed my stay very much, clean, comfortable and amazing location in central Cairo and very easy to find. Thanks to the friendly staff especially Abdala for helping me extend my stay during a busy period, and with all sorts of questions! I really loved being in Cairo.

Fantastic hostel look like hotel We couldn\'t have asked for a better hostel! We were really happy and the area is perfect and right close to Train station and the Egyptian museum, The bathrooms were very clean, and best of all the staff was wonderful and proffesional. They helped us with all of our questions. We would definitely recommend NEW PALACE to any of our friends staying in Cairo. Matthew from Canada

If you want to experience Dante's Hell, and want to be hoarded like cattle while on a tour, go to this hostel: bad staff, flaky tours, bad coordination, bad communication, no follow-ups). The same tour they planned for you, can be arranged through a different place at HALF the price. Bishi-Bishi in Dahab (featured in the Lonely Planet) is not safe at all: Locked door at night, wide open in the AM. You do the aftermath. Staff and owner, Jimmy, ignorant, rude and useless, completely useless.

It was pretty neat, I just wish the elevators worked as they should, We had to be up and down thru the stairs and the hostel is located on a 6th floor so imagine! other than that, the best hostel i have stayed in all egypt.
