I was surprised by this hostel. I am from Wellington and did not even know it was there. It's a well kept secret which is good as there are not heaps of backpackers there. The price is good, and I had the room to myself for two weeks. $20/night for a shared room with wireless internet access. Pretty Good!

I stayed in Unit 1 of this hostel for several weeks as it is relatively cheap and I got on well with everyone there. It is also near a bus stop with regular buses into the city centre.

Was clean, but felt run down. The staff was barley there (you would have to call to see when they would show up). But it was laid back and has some good amenities.

I thought that it was a good place, close to town and cheap. The kitchen and bathrooms were always clean and the beds were comfortable. There was someone there at 10pm when we arrived which was a big plus. And I was very happy with the off-street car parking. The down sides were the noise of the coke vending machine in the kitchen/dining room/lounge and that the office hours were so unhelpful. Paying and signing out was almost impossible before 1pm in the weekend, and that is just not on. I still haven't received a receipt for the payment I made. I just gave the money to the girl who gave us the key on the Friday evening. So, you can fit that into your evaluation somewhere, and something like a 7/10 would be sufficient.

I didn't like this hostel and left to go to another one as soon as I could. Stay were not friendly and the location wasn't good either. However It wasn't expensive and it was clean.

DO NOT stay at this hostel, it is dirty, in need of a refurb and full of 'long termers'. The owner also doubled his standard price as it was a busy weekengd, making it he price of a modest hotel.

Very institutionalised- feels like a boarding house. Not as great a location as description implies...

A good basic hostel. One of the few in Wellington where you can park a car.

Unfortueately I had a spring sticking in my back from the mattress and did not get a very good nights sleep. Apart from that all was well, thank-you.

You get what you pay for, this place wasnt exactly 'flash' but it was all we really needed and we didnt have to pay nearly as much as you have to at alot of other places, good kitchen, really clean bathrooms and pretty tight security/locks etc. No curfew either which was good. Would come stay again next time we go to wgtn as it was near to most things!
