A great place to meet new people from all over the world! Some spots could do with a good scrubbing, but hey, can't be too fussy. ;)

I had a rental so having the free parking was why i picked this spot. It was cheap, but there weren't any 4 person dorms as mentioned here. The place was clean. The bathrooms were clean but i didn't like that it was obvious that the men were using the womens toilets too. There was a group of individuals who appeared to work there who would take over the kitchen ( we just went out for food) and they would cook and leave things very smelly. Also these same guys just hung out and stared down everyone...well at least the girls. it was very creepy and i was glad i was only there for 3 days. My room was good. a single with a double bed, and tv and good heat. its just too bad that they had these guys who i think work there, give it such a creepy vibe.

Great people who going with, placed not too far from the city (15-20 min), also nearby from pubs. Sicurity and set up weren't great, but aceptable. Easy going staff

This is the worst hostel I have ever stayed in. The worst thing about it was the complete filth in the kitchen- disgusting! Hardly anything was working anyway, and the bits of the one cooker that were working were not fit to cook food on. I wouldn't feed a dog from that cooker! The showers were shocking, and the staff were creepy and invasive of privacy. We didn't feel safe at all. Completely awefull! My advice is- STAY WELL CLEAR!!!!!

In general, the place was tidy. Not a bad experience. Lots of Indians! All in all a nice place.

Hot water costs extra and lasts for 6 minutes. It´s a bit weird trying to shower as fast as possible without knowing when the 6 minutes are up. If walking to and from the main action in downtown Auckland, be warned that it is a long, steep climb from Queen St all the way to K\' Road and another 10-15 minutes more to this place. Reception was not manned all the time but the host was friendly and very helpful.

its about 10-15 min walk to queens st, a nice enough area with restaurants and cafe's, alright for chilling out in, facilities are good, all in all not too considering the price

Unbeatable value, cheap private room, will suit perfectly someone on tight budget. Negatives: -Lounge room and kitchen is the same entity and hence overcrowded -Non-existent sound proofing between rooms. Also there is a construction site next door, and they start drilling at 6 a.m. -Showers are tiny, only 2 toilets. -Strange smell from bed.

I was a little disappointed with the place but it is ok for what you are paying! Could do with a little revamp and would make a nice place. Shame that they don't warn about the fact that you have to pay to use the washing machine, internet and hot water for the shower, it isn't much but still would be nice to know beforehand! Around 30mns walk from the city if not a bit more, quite interesting area...!!
