this place is really great. one fault was that the sinks were blocked in almost all the showers/restrooms. but i changed hostels for the last night of my trip, just because they didn't have any rooms left, and let me tell you there is no comparison - i'd go back to Nomads any time.

I don't have much experience staying in hostels, but I was delightfully surprised with my stay at Nomads. The bathrooms were cleaned daily and I felt very safe staying there. It was a good location from the Southern Cross Station and from downtown, so I could walk everywhere. I was really only there to sleep and shower, so I can't really comment on the character, but there was an on-site bar and outdoor patio which seemed to encourage mingling.

My friends and I had a great time at the bar (Industry) and met tons of different people. The location was great! We literally walked everywhere in Melbourne. Would recommend to anyone!

I stayed at Nomads for a week and I do not recommend this place unless you just want to party. It's loud in the corridors way past midnight with drunk people yelling. The toilets and showers were not very clean and in two out of four toilets, the fossetts were broken and never got fixed during the whole week. If you are 18 years old and just want to get shit-faced, this is the place for you. If you want to stay clean and get a good night's sleep, it's not.

The bathrooms were gross by the evenings. They were good if you got a shower just after they were cleaned in the mornings. Very loud bar on the main floor, but did not disturb you when you were upstairs in the rooms.

By far the best hostel in Melbourne we have checked so far! We have been in about 6 hostels in Melbourne yet. Near-hotel style, everything clean and modern style. Location is ok if you like the city centre. More laundry facilities would be nice.

Awesome hostel! One of the best. Great bar on 1st floor. Very modern and mostly clean. Lots of private showers and bathrooms. It's so popular its tough to add days on to your stay because it's often full.
