Nubian Oasis Hostel Luxor in Luxor, Egypt

This hostel is a sham. I arrived and it had recently collapsed and is under renovation. They did not infrom me of this and still charged me.

Hello, unfortunately I believe you meet somebody at the railway station/airport that misled you and gave you wrong information about our hotel. Our hotel hss never collapsed and is notunder renovation. Anyway you didn`t visit our hotel, so we sent you an e-mail to know why you didn`t arrive in our hotel and let you know that we could charge you with your canceled without informing us Nubian Oasis is NOT collapsed and isn't under renovation either

The friendliest staff I encountered anywhere in Egypt. They have some great day trips planned for the East Bank and West Bank if you don't want to go it alone. The rooms were ok for the price. It got a little loud at times with all the street and muezzin noise in the morning, but you'll probably get that anywhere around the East Bank. Also the location is like a 5 min walk from the train station and they came to meet me, which I wasn't expecting. Philip, from USA ~ 11th Jan 2009
