Hard to fault, from the clean and air-con dorms to the excellent lounge area and helpful staff. All in a great hostel and your only ever a step away from a good night out. Local knowledge on hand to assist you in whatever you need, go on try it you might like it :O)

ok all round for the price the travel options are harder cause it kinda out of town, but not to hard as they have all the maps and details to get you there... they keep it clean

This hostel is by far one of the best that I have ever been to, and this is in large part due to Dave, the owner of the hostel. He is a great source of information for both Bangkok and Thailand as a whole, and is always willing to help you figure out your plan of attack. He truly loves this city and country, and has a great personality, and you can\'t help but get excited about heading off on your own after being armed with the tools Dave imparts. Yes, he sells tours, but he will also help you to figure out a cheaper way of doing something if you need it, and that in and of itself is a rarity. His staff are all very friendly, and characters in and of themselves. Dave is very concerned with keeping the hostel clean, and as such, has a rule that no food or drink, aside from water, be allowed in the rooms, and his staff are always on hand to clean if and when necessary. I came for 2 nights, but came back and stayed for over a week. The location is great, with easy access to the Sky Train and canal boats, and has great eateries and street vendors close by, as well as several awesome Thai Massage Parlors. Overall, I highly recommend this hostel to anyone who is looking for a safe, secure, fun, and interesting base of operations for exploring the awesomely quirky city of Bangkok. Happy Travels.

This place makes you feel very much at home. There is a great common space to meet other travelers, eat, or have a beer. The staff are very helpful and friendly, making soi 1 a unique guesthouse.
