Great staff and they handled a mix-up we had well: my booking got a bit mixed up, but since no dorms were available that night I was given a private room at the dorm rate. The room had a refrigerator and some of the private rooms even have sinks. One night, I had a loud neighbor so I learned the walls are thin, but most of the time that shouldn't be an issue at all. I'll definitely stay here every time I'm in Victoria it's in a great location, feels very safe, and was a great value. Amanda, from USA ~ 31st Dec 2011

Very clean bathrooms, and enough on each floor. Location very central to the waterfront & shops.Helpful staff.Parking situation not so great, but bearable.Only drawback - smoking only outside, so inevitably people hang out under your window & smoke, and end up being loud. This can go on into the night, especially when it's a weekend or fair and people are drunk and more obnoxious.Maybe getting a room not facing the street would be best.Otherwise - good place. This is an efficiently run hostel. The staff know what they are doing, the rooms are fine and there is a friendly bar/restaurant (and also a kitchen) which is great if you're traveling alone.
