Great staff, great location. Rooms were clean for the most part but the beds...matresses...sheets looked very worn out and need updating. Was very happy with my stay, will recommend it to all my friends. Christina, from Canada ~ 16th Jan 2012

It locates near to the byward market but it's very tiny and doesn't smell good in the dorm, also there's even a strange woman sleeping in the lounge and saying bad words about a single piece of noise. As hostels go, this place is fine. It is a bit short on toilets, but it is nice. Rooms clean and spotless. Clean sheets and clean towels. Clean toilets. The staff vary from being super helpful, super knowledgable to insipid non canadians who know nothing about Ottawa and are clearly passing time. When we were there, everyone was on WIFI and in winter its a bit cramped inside the lounge and kitchen. But this is a hostel. The next alternative up is twice the price. It is clean and nice. Loved how close it was to some of the tourist spots (Parliament Hill, Rideau Canal). The staff were very friendly and I liked how they had bulletin boards full of info about things going on, how to get to the bus terminal, etc. Just wasn't very fond of the room in the basement because it was a bit stuffy...but overall a pretty decent hostel. It was a nice stay at this hostel, about 10-15 minutes walk from the Parliament buildings. The beds were standard bunks in the room that I stayed in. I liked that each floor had its own bathroom.
