Palmers Lodge - Hillspring at Willesden Green in Montevideo, England

We had a pleasant stay. The staff was really nice and helpful and everything was clean. The hostel is not exactly situated in the central part of London but it is not a too big distance to the next tube station. So, there was principally nothing to complain about. This hostel was much better than expected. It was very clean, staff was very friendly. Beds were solid and didn't squeak. Even though the site said to bring your own lock, it wasn't needed. The lockers inside rooms were locked by keycards. Location of the hostel is also great, it's next to the Jubilee subway line, which is a direct route to all the important London places. The dinning room was a bit to small though and it was often hard to find a seat for breakfast.

Very clean and state of the art hostel. Well run and will definetely come back. Only criticism is that the mattresses are a bit too hard and no designated cycle park area!? However, good breakfasts and efficient staff. Davey, from England ~ 28th Nov 2011

A nice hostel, it certainly does its job. the staff was very helpful and friendly, the room and the communal areas were very clean. A bit noisy, but with a couple of ear plugs, I managed. I didn\'t like the fact that the kitchen was way too small, and that my room smelled like a combination of sweat and vinegar (and I insure you that it wasn\'t because of the other guests), but overall I enjoyed my time there. The bad rating we are giving this hostel is mainly because of the noise. We stayed here for 3 nights and each night there were trouble with school kids/teenagers running around and making a lot of noise. The staff did not really take control of the situation, nor try to prevent it, same problem every night. Each night we had to wait till the kids ran them self tired, which were around 1 or 2 a.m. We know that you should expect some level of noise such a place, but this was way too much Rasmus Toft, from Denmark ~ 1st Nov 2011

Excellent hostel for a stay in London! Even large rooms with 14 people offer privacy through curtains and individual reading lights for each bed. Warm blankets! Individual lockers in rooms for each guest. Clean showers and toilets. Good free breakfast and affordable dinner in the hostel restaurant. Good location, not too far from the underground.
