Panba is one of the best hostels we\'ve stayed at during our backpacking trip in Yunnan. Although the location is outside the town (5-10 minutes walk), it is okay because that part of town is quiet and the houses are authentic naxi houses. the staff are really helpful especially with booking tickets. breakfast is good, but they should add bacon to their menu.

It is few minutes from the city center that is not a big deal. I heard that I could find a similar place in the center for a better price. Staff is the great point. Mei works hard to solve any problem that eventually you have.

Got a little lost trying to find the place on the first day; however the staff were extremely helpful when we called for directions, even coming out to look for us. Rooms were tidy, common room was nice, the sit down meals (which you have to kind of 'book' since they're essentially making dinner for everyone) are EXCELLENT and way better than the junk for which we got ripped off in town earlier that day. Good to meet people and socialize too.

Excellent! I think! Nice and kind staff! Clean and comfortable place! The special thing it's worth to try is that every client could have dinner with the stuff and try the chinese style food only by 10 RMB! Finally, longer drink service (at night) is recommended!
Lovely place, beds were a little hard, but the common rooms are great and the staff are wonderfull.
I loved this hostel. The people were so friendly. Book an extra night! It's your best bet in Yunnan.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Panba, the staff were friendly and extremely helpful. The accommodations were comfortable and clean. The common area was cozy and great to meet other travelers. Overall, this place is superb and you should stay here!
