Paris Hotel is by far the best hostel choice in Cairo. The staff is incredibly friendly and always willing to help. My camera broke at Giza and they ran out that day to have it fixed - for free! Walid helped us to set up a 6 day felucca trip down the nile, which was amazing. He even set up a private car to drive us around the city for 3 days - including a day trip to Alexandria. My wife and I just returned from a week at the Paris Hotel, and had a delightful experience there. The rooms are clean and colorful, the hotel is centrally located in a bustling but loudspeakerless neighborhood, and the splendid Felfela takeout restaurant is right nearby. The hotel management are consummate professionals: welcoming and unintrusive but, when asked, able to facilitate and organize any guest needs with skill and no fuss.
