So long as you don't go expecting 5 star luxury I don't think anyone would be disappointed.The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, you get a free breakfast, free wifi and the boat was quiet and comfortable.The standard of decor wasn't great and was obviously quite old but it was kept clean.Definitely better than staying in a hostel in central Amsterdam full of lads on holiday. Nice warm atmosphere, smiling and helpful staff, good selection of dvd's and boardgames, and if you're lucky people around to enjoy them with. Good basic breakfast in the morning, and you're allowed to finish in you're own tempo although you're still eating at the end of breakfast time. Nice stay, friendly staff, clean, quiet, excellently situated in the center of amsterdam in front of the NEMO museum. The rooms are small, the douches okay. If you look for a bed in Amsterdam whitout wanting to pay for a big room, because you will be downtown most of the day anyways, then the Avanti ship is a good joice. The ship is in a very good location about 15 mins from the trains. Keep in mind that the rooms are small. The staff is very friendly, very secure boat. Next to the Nemo museum which is very easy to find. Only bad thing was the rooms can get a bit stuffy. I spent most of my time in the city or in the lounge area which is very nice.
