May 2012. We had a room with one bed and it was really narrow for two. The room looked out into a tiny inner yard, no fresh air at all (( and the air conditioning made the same sound as a plane makes while flying. There are no beaches near the hostel. The nearest we could find was 25-30 min walk. But you'll find plenty of bars near. Quite loud in the evenings. Everything is clean, the staff in general is very nice and helpful. The private room was great with a TV and a fridge. The only problem was there weren't enough hangers in the closest, no table/dresser to put clothes in, and the beds were very hard! The Posada San Francisco is by far one of my most favorite hostels in the United States. The location is excellent, and the staff are extremely friendly. The rooms are very large and has free wifi. The hostel also has a beautiful balcony view of Old San Juan on the fourth and fifth floor. Overall, this is simply the best hostel in San Juan and is one of the best in the United States. This hostel was amazing! Perfect location if you want to be right in Old San Juan. We had a private room with two HUGE closets, a mini fridge and a TV. There were three bathrooms on the floor two had showers but only one shower had enough pressure and hot water. Besides that, the staff was awesome and the views from the balconies were amazing! I stayed there for 4 nights, my first two and last two nights in PR. I had a fantastic time! The location is perfect, I made some great friends and it is safe. The only thing I wasn't crazy about was the bathroom, not because it wasn't clean (they're very good with cleanliness) but because it's kinda falling apart...other than that, no complaints.The view from the hostel floor is awesome and the bar next door is cheap and fun.I recommend Posada San Francisco.
