The bar is good, but not enough entertainment. Maybe a dart area can be design into one corner of the bar just like other bars in Europe and HK. It's quite popular and it can encourage people to play together and have fun. Also can bring in a football table and jukebox which cutomers can choose their favourate songs.

The staff were very helpful and capable. The rooms were basic but clean, the location in the old city was central and interesting, the lounge restaurant was art deco and attractive.

The place was great.Room clean and everything we needed, The bar super-comfortable. Unfortunately, I got robbed in my room while I was asleep, because I was too stupid to lock the door. The staff was so helpful, checked their security videos and accomponied me to the police for translation. Even if it was clearly my mistake they gave me free breakfast and some drinks for me and my friend because of the incident. Thanks again to all of you for your comfort.

Amazing renovation since the last time I was there (at least in the common area)! It looks great. Food was great too, and the staff was very helpful. This hostel is located in the old German quarter with easy bus access to the new part of town where there are some western cafes.

Arrived around 2:30 am. Was given room, but then the man said he'd given me the wrong one. The entire new room smelled mildewy. I asked if he had another room, but he didn't seem to care. In the morning, I asked for a new room. Helpful woman gave me a better one. Wall peeling, but cozy and clean. Overall, found Kaiyue to be friendly and comfortable. Not ready to recommend it to friends though (1st night not worth money I paid!)

I thought everything was perfect except that on the second morning I didn't have any hot water for a shower. I would also suggest some changes to the information in the travel books eg Lonely Planet, esspecially how to get to the Hostel. I read that I could catch a bus number 5, but the book didn't tell me where to catch the bus.
