The whole place is a bit worn around the edges, and by today's SE Asian standards, the facilities are definitely sub-par. Two showers, both with poor water pressure and erratic heat - way too hot one moment, freezing cold the next - are not enough to serve 20+ residents. However, the lounge and courtyard common areas are comfortable and welcoming, and the staff is extremely friendly, helpful, and service-oriented. RED PALM was simply amazing. The location could not have been more ideal it was extremely convenient for the "hop on hop off bus." The staff made our stay incredibly comfortable and assisted us with our every whim. It was a short stay but they had so many activities for us to compact into the few short days. Thank you so much! very well organised hostel...well organised, lots of info about the place for backpackers, complimentary 1 hour internet, very friendly staff. rooms are basic but clean. hostel is a little difficult to find - look for number 5 rather than 'red palm', as there isnt a sign outside the hostel John, from Ireland ~ 15th Oct 2011

Amazing hostel! Staff makes u feel at home right away and everyone is extremely welcoming. Close to the markets and the towers, easy walking to bars and restaurants. Very cosy, would recommend this hostel to anyone! Lindsay, from Canada ~ 2nd Aug 2011
