Retro Hostel Shevchenko in Lviv, Ukraine

Retro Shevchenko is the only hostel I visit whenever I'm in Lviv. Great location, great vibe and, most importantly, GREAT staff. Both Marichka and Lyuba are angels, and will bend over backwards to make sure you're comfortable, accommodated and happy. Best hostel in Lviv, BY FAR, and quite possibly the best in Ukraine. HARD TO SAY ABOUT THE PLACE. I WENT TO THE EXACT ADDRESS AND RING THE BELL WITH THEIR NAME SO MANY TIMED FOR 30 MIN. BUT NOBODY ANSWERED. I CALLED THEM IN ADVANCE AND ASKED THEM ABOUT ARRIVING IN MIDNIGHT THOUGH. SOMETHING WRONG AND THEY DONT CARE SUCH A THING. WHEN I CALLED THEM NEXT MORNING, I GOT NASTIEST REPONCE FROM THEM. IF YOU DECIDED TO GO THERE MAKE SURE TO DO IT DURING DAYTIME. I ENDED UP TO SPEND A LOT ON TAXI FOR NOTHING AND TOOK LONG TIME TO FIND ANOTHER PLACE. emiko, from Japan ~ 14th Jun 2009

Really nice place to stay in L'viv. Best location, staff was very helpful. We have moved from one room to another - we got room no 5 as a first one - no window and really small, so we do not recommend this room, all others are pretty nice.
