- “ really nice service and decoration, the only minus is no elevator ”

- “ Very nice staff with perfect english skills! 24h reception but after midnight you have to ring an the front door. This is a bit inconvenient but safe. Very small rooms but for the price totally worth it! Good location, next to Zhongshan Park Metro Station with direkt links to SHA/PVG, Shanghai (South) Railway Station, and the main sights. Good restaurant with nice and cheap breakfast located in the lobby. Only minus is a weak WiFi so you have to go to the lobby sometimes. Perfect! ”

- “ It was a very nice hostel, had a bit of trouble calling them after I had to change a bit of info about my reservation but as soon as I arrived everything was very nice, good beds, good food and a nice bar. ”

- “ The facilities were actually fine, but it was very cold in the cafe, so it was very uncomfortable after sitting there for more that 10 min. I was there late november, but if i had been there during the summer time it would have been great. I wil definitely use it again next tim i come to Shanghai ”

- “ One of the hostess at the bar mess up our breakfast orders. We had chosen 2 British Breakfasts but she insisted that we pointed at two Spanish Breakfasts. How can you confuse the two? I don't know. But I was a little frustrated to not get what we paid for. ”

- “ This is a really charming place, but with two négativ points 1/ very noisy, NOT because of the street: the hotel is located like an oasis with a little garden: no cars' noise but the noise between the rooms is incredible: there is no insonorisation at all, you can hear your neighbourght breathing! 2/ be very very very patient to have your breakfast: between 20 minutes and more than one hour to have an omelette and a cofe, with less than 10 constumers, how do they do that? it's a mistery... ”

- “ I like the common area in this hotel; nice garden, lounge area. Free wi-fi in public areas and room, very nice! The staff are nice and helpful, really thank you to arrange 4 of us into one bed dorm. :) Clean and comfortable. bed, functional air-con, just a little bit noise in the morning as we are in the room that facing the street. And of course a reasonable price!! ”

- “ I love all about this hostel. The cleanliness, the decoration, the view, the room, the bar, and the price. But only one thing that's not so suitable for me is the location's a lil bit far from the subway. But overall i love this hostel so much! ”

- “ Good all around hostel. The coffee and the beer at the in-hostel bar/restaurant are very reasonably priced. Close to the West Yan An Lu line 4 subway station. Good overall experience. ”

- “ The front desk staff are friendly and their dresses are casual. They dress up more like western people than Shanghai people . The foods provided by the hostel's kitchen are average in taste but good in size to feed hungry bellies. The most impressive way is their garden and the landscape in the environment, particularly a site in a busy center of the city. If we will go to Shanghai again, we will definitely pick Rock&Wood International Youth Hostel. ”

- “ It was a nice place to stay: staff at Front Desk were eally helpful! Room (Single) was Ok for price paid. Even though the Hostel is well located close to a Subway station, please be aware that it is extremely difficult to find its location (much more when Chinese people do often not understand / speaks English!). - “ We were only here for a night to catch an early flight out of Shanghai, but I wish we had stayed longer. Super cool atmosphere, looked like a great menu and bar and generally a fun scene. Our room was one of the private rooms and was really nice, although you had to let the shower run for at least 15 or 20 minutes before the water got warm, so just keep that in mind. ”

- “ It was one of the best I have stayed in in Shanghai. The Lounge area is lovely and the food is good.Internet works well here, but is slow in the rooms. The staff speak a very good english and are helpful and mostly friendly.Rooms are very clean and functional, however the lighting in my room was too dark, so I couldn't have read or worked at my desk.Share a double room with your partner or very good friend only, as toilet and shower are behind a glass door.Basic rooms have no windows! ”
