This wasn't the greatest hostel I have ever stayed at, that said, I was there a week and didn't mind staying there. I'd say it was an a slightly below average experience overall but have nothing I can pin my finger on as to the reason.I guess it doesn't stand out as the world's best hostel(but isn't the worst either). Lots of folks of all ages just literallypassing through which stayed here it seems. Some staff great, others not. A perfectly good place to pass time in Albuquerque.The location is directly next to downtown Albuquerque and a five-minute foxtrot puts you in the thick of things.The city is not at all dangerous as far as I can tell (certainly not compared to, e.g., New Orleans) and safety should not be a concern.Things at the hostel are generally chill and I had a good time. Even as hostels go, this place is very run down and shabby, it's certainly not clean, and security's definitely a problem. The dorm room door didn't lock, and there were no lockers available for storing valuables. It is in a good location, and the staff are generally pretty good, it's just a shame that the place is let down by being so dirty. There's also no air conditioning, so on warm nights the dorm was uncomfortably hot, even with the fan rattling away. Ross, from Scotland ~ 21st Aug 2011

The place is loud and the rooms are not air conditioned at all. There is not even a fan for the men's dorm. They have you do chores even though it is not in the literature about the hostel. I felt put off by this idea. There is limited parking and the majority of it is on street which is very busy. The area is sketchy and so I felt nervous about having my car broken into overnight.
