Totally ok hostel to spend a few nights in. Very central and close to the subway. On the other hand, the bathroom was very dirty, the whole weekend. We had no electricity in our room except the ceiling light. One night we woke up and it was like a sauna in the room .. But it worked for a few nights and the price was really good. Don't have any expectations! It is old and the rooms are small. The staff is very friendly. 96th Str. is a good location. The subway to downtown is around the corner. Great for young (party) people with a low budget. :-) Silke, from Germany ~ 22nd Oct 2009

In my room, the bathroom door locked itself on my second night. Don't think breakfast is served at this location. The hostel is very close to the subway station, within 2 blocks. For being that far distance from time square, the value for the stay was very good, if you didn't mind losing all the valuable time, especially when construction was performed during my stay. Good location, just one Block from Metro. Hostle was from the inside in bad shape. Very small rooms and not really clean. Sheets dirty and we had no towels one day. Windows doesn`t close right. In winter probably cold and in summer hot. No airconditon or heater. Staff was friendly and helpful. We would not recommand this Hostel, because of the shape and dirtyness. Dear Royal Park Hostel, I would like to thank you for my wonderfull experience in NYC! This was my first time ever staying in a Hostel, was not to sure about hostels but this turned out well! So this is probably the worst hotel ive ever stayed in. First of all they call it a hotel and hostel but theres no kitchen. They have a fridge and a microwave in their office and thats it. They furthermore charge $2 for storing luggage. When you book a private dobble bed with shared bathroom you should be aware of the long walk to the only 2 toilets there are on each floor. Remember to bring both soap and toilet paper provided in your room whenever you need the toilet. Dreadful place Daniel, from England ~ 30th Sep 2009
