- “ I think that the check in and check out procedures must be completly renovated, there is a lot of mistakes, my reservation was wrongly done in the check in and it was necessary to paid much more than the value from the Hostel.com site. In addition, the cost of the reservation is higher in comparison to the quality of the service, such as poor cleanliness of the bathroom, the very poor internet signal, the very old towels and so on. ”

- “ Good hostel for that money. It's located near subway station and central park, place is clean. There was one disappointing moment. When we placed order we thought it would be a room with 4 beds (we are 4 guys), but in reality there was a room with 2 double beds. I think it was hostel.com mistake, because it has wrong description of room. Royal hostel staff was very helpful though, they changed our reserved room to 2 rooms with 2 beds with no additional charge. Thanks them for that. ”

- “ I've stayed with a friend 7 nights at Royal Park and we had a very small bedroom. The carpet was very dirty, the air was unhealthy, a pipe was going through the room and was containing probably hot water and that was very noisy and very hot. My bed was just next to it and the temperature in the room was around 30/35° Celsius. The walls were moldy. On the floor a small individual bathroom had to be shared with 5 bedrooms, that means at least 10 people. A basic housekeeping. ”

- “ this hotel was by far the worst i have ever stayed at. the room was plain filthy, they havent even vacuumed the room before we arrived The worst however, was that i have booked 4 nights via hostels.com which was also confirmed by the hotel but when i arrived the hotel just checked us in for 3 nights without noticing us. So when we arrived on our last night in NY and entered our hotel there was another couple lying in our bed and we had to sleep in the lobby. avoid this ho(s)tel at all costs!! ”

- “ Elevator was out of service and walking up 6 flights of stairs with luggage was a challenge. Took 20 minutes to get hot water for a shower. TV had 3 channels and no remote. No wireless in the rooms, only in the lobby. ”

- “ the only thing great about this hostel is the location, the rooms/dorms are very old, only one bathroom/shower in the 6th floor where I was and the wifi only works in the 1st floor at the entrance, this place needs an upgrade to be average! ”

- “ Me and all my girls went travelling to newyork after a long hard working summer with camp america. This was perfect for us. Perfect location, perfect price, clean and i want to point out that the staff were VERY attentive, friendly and hardworking! They made us feel very welcome and helped us look for places to visit and helped us find safe clubs we could all go to. I will definitley be coming back to the royal park hotel next year if i return to camp america! Thanks again :-D Nicole Stevenson x ”

- “ My husband and I had a great time in this hostel. Its location is very good, and it is one block for the metro station. We had AC in our bedroom, and the restrooms were very clean. I just miss the Internet wifi access from the bedroom because we just could capture the signal in the main floor. This was an awesome option! ”

- “ It was clean. The staff were friendly, but the desk was understaffed. Our room must have been painted the day we arrived - the smell of wet paint was potent. There were not enough bathrooms/floor. ”

- “ Seemed to be a busy well used hostel which is always comforting. Inside the room for the two of us had a bunk bed and not reall enough room to have open suitcases on the floor so was quiet cramped. But it was quiet in the evenings and although it isnt in the most exciting immediate area you can take a nice 25min walk through the park or a cheap cab into the main areas south of Central Park. We were there for 2 nights and there was a shared bathroom and we didnt even see anyone else using the bathroom so ”
