Talk about clean. This place is brand spanking new and it shows in everything. I stayed here during the World Cup and it was full and alive. It is in the middle of nowhere , but the three front desk gals , Inga , Nina and ? (Sabrina) make it worth the trip. They tell me every German girls dream is to live in California , so next time I return I'm bringing a ring. The rooms are clean as you can imagine. Our bathroom in are room was handicap accessible so it was bigger then you could ever imagine, I almost moved my single bed into there so I could have my own room. The dorm room was for 6 people. Two bunk beds and two single beds , however there is no A.C. which is nothing new in Europe , but it does get warm in your room and during this summer the heat was unbearable. Breakfast is included , but let me just say while there is much to choose from , who in the hell has salami and a bagel with some coffee for breaky. Like I said there is alot to choose from so you'll find something to eat. If not , the hostel shares a parking lot with a grocery store and a bakery so you don't need to go far for something a little different. The city has an indoor ski / snowboarding facility and a Warner Brothers Amusement Park , but seriously if your looking for nowhere on a map, you found it if you make it to Bottrop. It's 12-15 km from Gelsenkirchen and about 30 minutes from Dortmund so if your nearby you should consider staying here. There is nothing bad I can say about this hostel other than its location.
