Good location if you want to be near the beach. Downtown not too far away... only 20 mins on the bus. Staff very friendly snd helpful! Big lockers in room. Would recommend staying here!

I would suggest that in the reservation process you add questions about being from outside the U.S. or a faculty to limit confusion or difficulties when shoing up at the door.

Dorm rooms were OK, though a little cramped and a tad stuffy. Bathrooms could use a fixture upgrade and some cleaning, but generally OK.

Fellow travellers be warned. U.S hostels are not quite like european ones..Unlike the latter which cater primarily to backpackers, U.S hostels contain a lot of long-term customers: usually scruffy american individuals who cannot afford to live elsewhere or have questionable mental health status. I was put in a particularly horrendous room with a woman who talked to herself and claimed everyone was 'out to get her'. If you want to feel safe, and to have fun choose somewhere else. My room was tiny

A lot of activities, movies, games and BBQ. Close to the beach and plenty of restaurant and little stores. Not a lot of young people... Alcohol authorized until 9 pm, terrace until 11, hot-dogs available at the kitchen from 11 pm to 2 am. Well organized and very good breakfast for a Hostel: eggs and pancakes everyday. Parking in the streets arround and grocery store near. Well-equiped kitchen for cooking! Internet wireless and computers ($1 for 20 minutes). Cold and light from the window nea

I had a great time on my trip. I enjoyed the neighborhood and it was a great Hostel. The rates are very affordable, I will be back next time I am in San Diego.
