  • Not the best hostel I stayed at but the Staff was very friendly, knew English and helped in any way they could! A very good option if you don't want to spend a lot of money. The only downside was the note you left on the bed if you wanted to have your sheets changed. In our case it did not happen.... To sum up, a good hostel if you don't want to spend so much money and are not so picky about the rooms and bathrooms!

  • Had a pleasant stay at hostel. Location is OK but a bit far from subway line.

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our room for three guests! The linens were clean and crisp and we slept well. There was plenty of hot water for showers but we tried to be frugal. We were half a mile to the subway and got around rather quickly. It was easy to catch a cab to the airport and train station. We chose the least expensive of the three tours offered to the Great Wall and was happy with our decision. On that day, the weather was perfect. Included were stops at a jade, silk and tea stores.

  • Been here a few times and it was good every time. The food prices might be a little 'too western', but if you don't like it, there are also other restaurants around. Atmosphere is very nice and location is good (about 10-15 mins to subway station). Cleanliness could be a little better, I think. Especially when I walked in my room (dorm), I just thought 'couldn't they just open a window or something?'. Overall it is a very nice hostel!

  • The hostel was awesome! I took a group of high school students, and they accommodated us in every way possible. The staff were friendly and personal, and they made efforts to ensure our stay and our overall trip were amazing. I could not recommend this hostel more, plus they have a great restaurant that is itself a cool hang-out spot. Book this hostel! You will not regret it!

  • We had a great time in this hostel. There are special services eg. for trips to great wall or to book a table in a restaurant (you really have to eat bejing duck ^^). I stayed with my girlfriend in a double bed room. Bathroom and bed was ok, but could be better. But at all it is a nice hostel ... go there and have fun.

  • Very disappointing trip. We changed 2 rooms, and all fad fungus on the walls and ceiling. Bathroom was also bad, it was very small and there was no curtain between the shower and toilet, the water also was constantly pouring from bathroom to the room. Also hotel towels got dirty, my girlfriend dried her hair after it was dyed, and they tried to charge us 50 yuan each, saying that they can't was it off. So they made us either wash towels for them or pay 100 yuan. Also there is no elevator.

  • I travel to Beijing often, and always opt for Sanlitun Youth Hostel if there is space available. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful - and they speak excellent English making it easy to get directions and book tours or train tickets. In addition, the bar area is lively and usually full of other travelers, which means you can meet other people to go out with if that's you're thing. Other pluses: free wifi, western toilets, fun cultural events, great food, and close to the subway.

  • Very fun hostel, awesome atmosphere. Very good value for what you pay! Some of the staff is very friendly, some are not. They all speak English pretty well, and most were very helpful in telling us where to go and how to get there. The hostel runs a Great Wall of China tour and I highly recommend it. It's the most fun I've had in my travels. Downstairs, there is a bar that is a lot of fun and very cheap. I stayed in the 8-person dorm and it was roomy, clean, and had lockers. Very fun place.

  • Friendly and amiable atmosphere, offering decent Western food & drinks at reasonable prices, staff was dedicated, rooms were clean, towels were being changed everyday, the communal showers were clean and left nothing to complain. I would definitely recommend this hostel to anyone, it is a nice establishment.

  • Those who love to hang out and meet new people, have crazy stories to remember and make interesting aquaintances, Sanlitun Hostel is right for you! Quite big one with a comfortable lounge area... lots of travellers chilling around... pool tables, board games, free wi fi (only downstairs by the bar), all possible drinks and english style breakfasts... all types of excursions are also available... It is warm inside during winter period! 10-15 min walk from Dongsishitiao metro station. Thumbs up!

  • Extremely good Hostel! Only downsides are that there is no Elevator and public showers are a bit ran down (namely the curtains which protect the clothes). Nonetheless: Top-recommendation, Location in Sanlitun is very good for either trips or clubbing/party. Staff is friendly, speaks extremely good English and can organize everything. Vrey cozy bar/biergarten-like thing in front. Not hard to find too, popular restaurant next door, most taxi drivers know it. Thumbs up!

  • 2nd time I've stayed here. I'm an older traveller, but always felt welcome here and not too out of place. It's great being able to get all meals here whenever needed, especially breakfast. Staff always friendly and helpful. The new digital scales were very helpful on our departure to the airport. My son really enjoyed the "Great Wall" tour and still talks about it. Hope to be back next year !

  • It is clean. The Staff is friendly. Only that some of the computers in the lobby are sometimes out of order and in the early morning it is understaffed. The others are fine.
