The hostel is in a secure location with a family atmosphere and a very friendly and pretty "housewife". Her advices about where to go and which time of the day, where to eat, safe and unsafe city areas... are very helpful in such a big city as Santiago.

This place was a good start to my trip. The staff were friendly and helpful. Literally 100m to the Subway which was very cheap and easy to use. It also helped that the other guests were cool too. Free internet is also a bonus here.

We enjoyed our stay at the Santiago Hostel. Unfortunately the 2nd night we shared our room with 6 women from the Herbalife convention. They got up at 5 a.m., turned on the lights and made a lot of noise for at least an hour. When we tried to get the staff to help us we were told that we should respect them. There was a sign in our room stating that ¨quiet time¨was from 12 midnight until 8 a.m. and all we asked is that our fellow hostelers showed some consideration. I've been to many hostels and overall people that leave early try to be quiet and not disturb others. These people went out of their way to do the opposite and the staff should have been on our side in this. Other than that, the location, cleanliness and other staff were fine. Thanks for asking! peace, Irene

It wasnt the nicest place to stay but this was made up for by the friendly staff and over travelers. It was a great place to meet people and exchange travel tips. It was also close to the metro, banks and some small shops.
