Peter and his staff are all very friendly and can help with any need you might have while in Sanya. The newly renovated rooms are comfortable (soft beds!) and safe. I would recommend this hostel to anyone going to Sanya. Oh yeah...free beer upon arrival! Cheers!

One of the best hostels I have ever been... If you like the sun, the beach, fresh pineapple, traditional chinese hawker food and well trained english speaking staff you should go there! Peter is the best! Really! I will be back soon ;-)

Very very kind and helpful staff, good English (but it was nice to try my poor Chinese too!).

A nice and cheap hostel, but it was expensive to use any service or offers beside the accommodation.

Not great value for money - quite expensive for what you get. Rooms weren't cleaned unless you asked for them to be, and the place is very much in need of its proposed refurb!

Nice girls at the reception and excellent location, but this property requires serious repair. Looks like an old barrack. All the furniture ant fittings are old and almost destroyed. Also, it is a questionable fun to read on the wall of your "private ensuite" what "Mario from Italy and Lili from China did" on your bed one month ago. We had cancelled our booking starting from the 2nd day and chose excellent home hotel apartment (that are plentiful in Dadonghai) at much lover price.

We stayed at this hostel over Spring Festival. From the start, it felt like all they wanted was our money - they kept pushing their tours and activities on us. One of the staff members at the front desk was always very helpful and approachable but another was definitely not (the latter forgot to mention that one of the activities we booked through the hostel was not actually meeting at the hostel, so we missed the first bus). On the plus side, the hostel has a great location, very very close to the beach (though the hostel itself is very hard to find when you first arrive in Sanya). Additionally, there are always other travellers talking downstairs in the lobby or outside on the porch area - they don't talk loudly enough to keep you up, and it's a good way to meet others and share stories. Ultimately, this place is good for its price if you are looking only at location, and its character isn't bad, but if I ever go back to Sanya, I am not sure if I would stay here again.

This hostel does not deserve the nasty reviews! It was so close to the beach, the staff were so friendly, and the beds were very nice. The rooms are not super clean by North American standards, but for China they are the norm. This is what a hostel is: great location, cheap food and beer, and friendly folks!
