Mr. Assim (the owner) was a very helpful, courteous, and hospitable guy. The few rooms I saw were not air conditioned though they do exist. The location was great and the staff was more than happy to fill any request. We got hungry at 3:30 in the morning and they managed to find us food. Their taxi transport fee is reasonable (a friend who opted out of this service paid 80 Egyptian pounds - Sara Inn charges 60). Some of the staff would even walk us all the way to some of our destination Lauren, from USA ~ 4th Jul 2009

The room we booked had free airport pick up to which I've replied saying i was already in Egypt and i would use the airport transfer on the return as i was that was my last night in Egypt.This to say that the option wasn't available and we had to pay 60 E.pounds for that service.The room didn't have a proper en-suite bathroom as all it was done was a separation in metal inside the room itself, shower needed to be with the legs between the toilet.Mattresses were old and uncomfortable. staying at the sara inn hostel was the highlight of my trip to the middle east! from the moment i landed in cairo and was picked up at the airport by mohamed, i felt completely taken care of. once i arrived at the hostel i was offered tea and amir discussed my options for sight-seeing over the few short days i had in cairo. no expensive packages were pushed on me, like i had heard may happen. i did only the things i wanted to, and had an amazing experience! throughout my stay, the guys at the de megan, from USA ~ 31st Mar 2009

The Sara Inn is very well located for the Museum, as well as near a metro station, with a choice of restaurants nearby. Ignore the front entrance which is scruffy and dusty. The 7th floor is clean and bright. We had a double with bath (704) which was clean and simply furnished. Note though that the partition walls of the bathroom are not full height, so you will share noises and smells! There was not much water pressure behind our shower, so rather dribbly, but just about adequate. We ha Katrina, from England ~ 4th Mar 2009
