Have to complain about this hostel. It claims on website that breakfast and dinner are included, but when I arrived on the evening before New Year's Day, I was told they did not provide meals on holiday. I lived in that hostel two days, never saw the meals promised. So during the New Year's holidays, I have to live on some bread and biscutes I brought with myself. At least, you could send an email or a text message to notify this information, so that I could prepare some food for myself, s
The web site DOES NOT say breakfast is included except with Bed Breakfast Accommodation. You arrived on a holiday. The restaurant WAS open from 5pm on 31st December. The shop supplies food and was open on 31st December. You paid �13 per night and no hostel in the UK would supply bed and food at this price! We cannot be responsible for you not reading or understanding the web site. You also had a room to yourself. NO MEALS WERE PROMISED so you have completely got the wrong idea.

Windows might be double glazed, however curtains don't cover the windows & glazing was done property so it doesn't make a difference. WiFi is only in restaurant. The heating in the rooms wasn't turned on. Food at the restaurant was average at best... Not the best place I've stayed & glad it was for only one night. Margaret, from Australia ~ 5th Nov 2011

Although the staff weren't particularly happy, this was a rocking place, with live music in the bar downstairs every night that I was there (a thursday, friday, and saturday). A good base for exploring Skye if you get a Skye Rover pass for the day. David, from Australia ~ 11th Jul 2011

We stayed in a double en suite room, which was clean but extremely basic, no nice touch at all, nothing on the walls to give the room a bit of character and make it feel cosy. It was the most expensive place we stayed at, dearer than the lovely hotel in Edinburgh and guest house in the Great Glen.We asked for towels as there was only a small one in the bathroom and the unfriendly hostess didn't give any to us. The food made me sick and there was a fight in the pub. A disaster of a place!
Thank you for your comments. Firstly, let me apologise for the experiences you have reported. You make a number of criticisms: The room, the food, the price and the event you experienced in the pub. I would be interested to know what food you had. You are comparing us to a hotel and a guest house and we are neither. We have Guest House rooms but these are in a separate building and it was unfortunate that you were not allocated one of these. I shall be discussing your comments with the relevant staff and seeking an explantion regarding the towels and the food. As for the fight, the persons concerned have been excluded permanently and I can only apologise again that you should have witnessed this. Jonathan (owner)
