This is really a one star hotel, not a hostel. Little attempt has been made to make it appealing to the eye.

Location is pretty scary...probably the worst part of town. Very nice front-desk lady.

Nice quiet hostel, lovely couple who run it. Dont be put off by Hastings St (full of drugs addicts) just walk on Pender St and cut through to the hostel on Princess. Or take the Bus, the owners will help you out with that.

This is the best hostel in vancouver if you don't mind the bad neighbrohood. It's clean, quiet, cheap and the owners are really friendly.

I wasn't comfortable with the location after dark, however the hostel itself was well kept. The staff was nice to accomodate me when I checked in late. Take Cash - I got stuck walking down the streets at night attempting to find an open ATM, which ended up not working.

In my opinion the East Hastings street is a strange area, where you shouldn´t walk alone outside at nights. I arrived late in the evening and the taxi driver advised me not to go out alone in the dark. The street was full of strange people. The staff was very friendly. Exactly it´s a cheap sleeping place for persons who are less frightened than me.

Just like the others said: first couple of days you prefer to take a bus to get there, but one can very easy adjust. Never had a single problem with those homeless and junkies on the street (actually, their centre is approx. 4 blocks to the west on corner of the E. Hastings and Main). Hostel is very clean and the owners simply great. If I am coming here in future, sure I would use it happily again.
