although the name would indicate otherwise, this place is not so near the city center. but thats about the only downside. its incredibly clean, secure, and has good facilities. the lounge area is nice, and the free breakfast is a nice touch as well. if you dont mind being outside the city center, this place is highly recommended.

This has to be the best hostel in Shanghai. It's very clean and lots of fun. They a huge common room where you can hang out. The staff are very helpful. Great location. Easy to get to by metro line 3, 3RMB and easy to get to Peoples Square. I have stayed at this hostel 4 times and I have a good experience each time. I will only stay at this hostel when I'm in Shanghai.

Close to subway station which will get you anywhere in Shanghai. It appeared to operate as a standard hotel as well. There were several different groups of older chinese business persons throughout the week. The american breakfast was good, and the showers were hot. They played movies every night which was nice. The beds were hard, but this is pretty much standard in China. The only downside was that the internet was SLOOOOOOOW!

This is a great hostel It is very clean and safe. I have stayed here before and I will stay there again in the future. The staff is extremely helpful. Centrally located. From the Shanghai South Train station it's only about 20 minutes by subway. Then about a 10 minute walk to the hostel. Peoples Square very close as well. I highly recommend this hostel.

Very cheaply priced, felt more like a hotel rather than a hostel with big clean rooms. Use of the computers were limited to 11pm though, very unfortunate.

I liked the place and their stuff ,the only problem and difficulty was that we didn't have locker inside the room .you had to use the lockers in the base floor!
the other parts are perfect for student travelers!
compare to the prices in Europe ,it is much more convenient than European hostels!

Overall great hostel. Excellent hot showers, bedroom heaters and warm beds. Only complaint would be that the in-room lockers don't lock, and the lobby ones are just by the door.
