This was an excellent hostel, a little dirty, but I think it was because we were in the basement. If you go, request to be put somewhere besides the basement as it's a little damp down there. Michelle, from USA ~ 27th Sep 2009

Great place, great price, great location, great staff! Would definatly recommend it. Bar, pool table, restaurant, free internet etc... also you get 1 free coffee and 2 free beers (But to be honest, the beer wasn't really good enough to mention). Good place to stay, lots of helpfull staff (speaking English very well). Many services, like train tickets or calls in Chinese. Many international guests, so if you are trying not to meet anyone from your country, you'd better go somewhere else. If not, it's a perfect place to stay. I had a wonderful time at the Shuyuan International Youth Hostel. The staff was very accomidating. Hostels.com did not show that I was booking a room in their basement and they changed it right away for me. It did cost a little more money and it was worth it. The food is delicious at this location. I would have eaten there every meal if I was there more. The tours were great as well. Snow helped us on our tour as well as checking us in.
