absolutely fantastic place to stay - its in the middle of nowhere but the locals are so friendly and welcoming you can get a right feel for french life. Jan is so lovely - you feel like she's your mum as well as sids! plus - she's happy to give you a lift to carcassonne every day if life in priexan is too quiet for you

Great place - one of my favorite places to stay. Beautiful environment, relaxed and extremely social: it feels like you're part of an extended family. The only downside is that it's out in the middle of nowhere, so only book if you've got a car or you can deal with the limited bus schedule.

don't go to carcassonne, or just go there for one day and spend a couple nights here in preixan. it's beautiful and relaxing.

We were taken by surprise upon arrival at Sidsmums. We loved it's location in Preixan, and enjoyed the scenery very much. It felt like home!!! We'll return when we can.

I had a fantastic time at Sidsmums. The staff, particularly Jan, were extraordinarily helpful. They knew all the sites, all the things to do, and Jan was very good at helping us clear up some situations we ran into when in town. We met lots of other travelers and learned a great deal. The place is very laidback and relaxing, and the accomdations are comfortable and clean. George the resident dog was a definite joy. :)

This was an excellent stop along the way. Slightly outside Carcassonne, the city and hostel were perfect. It was a very relaxed setting and the staff were very easy going. It was exciting to not battle the language barrier, if only for a few days.
