Taken by surprise to see that it was someone's house and he had a dog. The dog was nice and so was Karel! He made sure we felt like home. If only the place was actually in the city it would be perfect. I don't think I would mind staying there again if I went back to Brussels.

A great place to go and relax. The calmest and most easygoing stay I've had.

Would not hesitate to recommend this place. Karel is a magnificent host and happy to provide you with plenty of information. The little suburb of Helmet was my idea of a wonderful place to visit. Happy Days, a great little pub at the end of the street for a beer - can still smoke at the bar. I was only there for 2 days but would have stayed longer at the drop of a hat. Jeffro

Though a bit out of the way, the place we really nice, a real home that gives you a sense of staying in Brussels with real Belgians, not a hotel or regular hostel. Wonderful.

Grate hospitality and helpful hints makes the place a good choice to visit Brussels. It is not in the city center, but its only 10 minutes away by tram. Give credit to Karel`s hints, specially the "Delirum Cafe" - a place that beer`s lovers can`t miss in Brussels. To have hints and tips in English is a great plus for non-french speakers. I only would suggest a blackout curtain for the dorm. The sun bothers a little bit on early morning.
