We stayed there for 2 nights but we found it very clean and homie (the double private it was excellent, newly furnished). It's in the city centre near all important locations and pubs.

This hostel is huge. The kitchen and dinning area is very good, huge and clean. They had good rules (15min internet when someone is waiting, no noise after 11pm, no food/alcohol in rooms), but they did not enforce them. We had to wait a long time to get a computer (they run fedora linux). The girls in our room came at 4am, making noise, eating and they had alcohol (some spilled on the carpet). Nothing worked in our room, no toilet paper in the bathroom, really hard beds, luckily Galway is a small city so the location was good. People were friendly but tried to push a tour on us which I didnt appreciate.

We were 5 people and it was really nice place to stay the weekend. Good place and nice people. I recommend you. Only one thing, is that you must check out at 10 am.

The hostel itself seemed extremely well looked after and had obviously been renovated recently however there were no lockers to put bags in, our beds had been "cut down" in length to fit into the room and the TV room is rather useless for watching television as there is an annoying jukebox that prevents you from hearing anything other than crap music all the time, also the ensuite bathroom was disgusting and clearly never gets cleaned. Positives are the kitchen and a cheap pool table . .
