Very lovely hostel :)

staff are friendly, but the building structure and room layout aren't not too great. Not many powerpoints in the bedrooms to recharge phone or camera.

I stayed in a twin room with my friend for 4 days. The staff were definitely nice and the location was really good too. The tram station was just right outside the door. Tram #8 took us right to the main streets. We could help ourselves with bread, milk, orange juice, ect., in the morning and it was great. This was a disappointment. Despite nice touches (free breakfast, pasta etc), it seems to be geared far more towards long term residents, with inflexible kitchen hours and unhelpful rules which suit them in getting up for work, but don't suit people on holiday. It would be much improved by being properly cleaned, particularly the room, which was tiny.

This is a really cozy hostel, a 10 minute tram ride away from the city center. The beds are a little bit hard, but on the plus side you get free breakfast, you can wash clothes, iron them, there's internet in the house, free milk and coffee all day long and a cozy living room. They close the kitchen at 9 pm which is a little early but the rest is fine. It's a good escape from all those huge Mega-building-hostels that i've seen so far in OZ. I'd stay again.

It's right next to the botantical gardens and with a tram stop nearby it's good for getting into the city center or St Kilda. Double room was clean and spacious and the staff couldn't have been more helpful in helping us get around and provide local info.
