The location is excellent... walking distance from everything... The staff was super friendly and very helpful... The rooms were a bit noisy but because we got a room by the exit doors and near the bathrooms so we heard the doors slamming every minute. The sheets were clean but could use some new ones.. other than that the place has a nice bar and the restaurant food was amazing and affordable... would reccomend it just asking for a different room though! :) Noriko, from Mexico ~ 28th Sep 2011

I had high expectations for this hostel as it was a big chain and had great reviews. However, I was very disappointed on arrival. Since they have a massive bar that they man, it seems to be priority at check in and I merely got a key and was shooed away. The rooms were tiny, only 1 coed bathroom and shower per floor/20rooms. The rooms/bathrooms/showers did not get cleaned properly and the floor was filthy. The communal room had no windows and smelt funny. Overall the hostel has no character! :( Alicja, from Poland ~ 31st Aug 2011

Edinburgh was the best city that I visited during my trip (London, Liverpool, Dublin, Edinburgh and Glasgow) and this is definetly the best hostel that I've been at. It's well located, the bedroom is confortable, the pub is very good and the staff is very friendly and helpful. My only complaint is that the "chill out room" shoud have a spot with more light for whom want to read. Pros: almost everything. Cons: chill out room. Wellington, from Brazil ~ 26th Aug 2011

St. Edinburgh's was pretty nice. The staff was great, I felt like I was friends with them by the time I left. Breakfast is free too in the morning, which was nice. Our shower didn't drain properly though (the staff tried to help! but it never worked haha) - and be fairly warned - the bar downstairs is very popular and VERY loud. Also this hostel is right at the base of old town, so there's lots of traffic outside. If you can tolerate noise, this hostel was great & I met some great people and had Kat, from USA ~ 5th Aug 2011

This hostel was a blast. Major ups all around, one thing I would even think might be a down fall was that the common room was too hot and smelled. Other wise, good stuff. Joseph, from USA ~ 22nd Jul 2011

This Hostel is so nice. Clean, staff was so kindly. Only I was disappointed is I couldn't connected internet in my doom room. That's all. I will stay here again when I come back to Edinburgh. Thanks a lot. Yuki, from Japan ~ 3rd Jun 2011
