St Christopher's Greenwich in London, England

Basic budget accommodation in a good location in the heart of Greenwich with decent transport links to the centre of London during the day. The staff was friendly, although occasionally a bit spaced out by the late nights of partying. The bar is open until midnight during the week and 2am on weekends, so be prepared to go to bed late of to wear earplugs. The burgers are excellent. Jarkko, from Finland ~ 14th Jul 2009

Do NOT, even if you want disco's till 2am stay here, unless that is you enjoy a good punch up on a Saturday night. In it's favour it was very cheap and right next to DLR line so if you are super skint give it a go - just take some ear plugs! calder, from England ~ 31st May 2009

Only 4 lockers to 8 beds. In the middle of the night a guest who must have been staying in another room at the hostel was able to get into our room using his keycard. Joseph, from England ~ 28th Feb 2009

Three things that made this hostel unplesant: 1. Their free wireless internet worked maybe 2 or 3 hours out of the day, and would go down for several days at a time... utterly useless! 2. Showers that have little to no water pressure. It was impossible to get clean, I felt like I was taking sponge baths for a week! 3. Their common room was in the basement, and it *reeked* of vomit. It was miserable to stay in there for even just a few minutes! Staff were friendly and helpful, building was Heidi, from Canada ~ 21st Feb 2009

The rooms transmit a lot of noise and the shared bathroom isn't the best. Linens weren't clean upon check-in, and bar staff (who run the hostel) were hit or miss with being helpful. Breakfast is a plus; train station is only 30 seconds away. Greenwich is out of the city, but worth a day in its own right. Gabriel, from USA ~ 28th Jan 2009
