  • No wifi, on the mountain, old doors. Except this, everything is great. I think Salzburg attracts people for its culture, history and wonderful view. So location is the tricky part to judge. It is not easy to find it, especially late in the evening and can be quite scary to climb the mountain alone, but everything will worth it when u sit in the terrace, having ur breakfast right in front of the spectacular view of the old town and moutains. So I think this is a unique hostel.

  • Freezing cold and floor was filthy. Why? Because when we walked all the way up the mountain at 2230, we were told that there were was no room for us even though we had a reservation. Other hostels were fully booked, so we decided to sleep outside on the ground. This hostel is not up to date on bookings, so you have the chance of getting there and having no room.

  • This was more of a Bed & Breakfast than a Hostel to me. It has a great view of Salzburg. Negatives: Rooms are small, no WIfi and difficult to get to if you have a lot of luggage (though taking a taxi is possible).

  • The hostel is located on the top of a mountain behind the old city, so that there are only two ways to get to it: You can either pay 2 euros per use of the Modern art museum`s elevator, or you can go around the mountain and climb 15 min of stairs. There`s no reception there were 7 people in a 6 bed room broken lockers and beds occupying lots of space in an already small room restaurant closes at 9pm (remember you`re isolated) breakfast ended 15 minutes after it started, for lack of food.

Practically, Barcelona is a pretty easy city to navigate on foot or by public transport with a well laid-out grid system for the streets and a simple metro system. Here's an example of what you can do with 24 hours and a T10 (10 journey) metro ticket.
