Nice hostel by the sea :) There's a lot of surfers in Strandhill but the beach was told to be unsafe for swimming. Wide and nice beds.

Clean & (relatively, depends) quiet. It's nice and friendly, located just 1' walk from the beach, 5' from a Spar with ATM machine, and, even better, there's a pub/restaurant just opposite side of the street where food & service are excellent, with live music on Sat and Sun. Next door is another pub, a bit more crowded, with live music too. Despite them being next to the hostel, you don't hear the noise so can have a nice sleep. Carrowmore & Knockarea (megalithic tombs) are just nearby, you could even walk there from Strandhill. Sligo is only 10km far, so it's really a handy place to stay if you need a base from which travelling around the county.

Very cold room, couldn\'t find any staff during our stay, just other hostel users!
Very cold rooms :-((The boss allows only heating between 5pm and 12pm. Bad also for the staff. Cleanliness depends on the people :-((( not the staff :-))
Strandhill is a lovely little spot and this hostel suits the place. Very relaxed atmosphere.

Very budget option, for very young people or those who dont care much about even where to sleep and about availability of soap in the bathroom. i mean do not expect much,though the hoste failed to meet even my humble expectations. But located 50 meters from beautiful long ocean beach and sand-hills.
