Hostel itself was fine, lifted by a good location and Aaron was exceptionally helpful and friendly. By far the best staff we met on our travels. I realise that this is not the hostel's fault but we found some of the long-term residents very intimidating and hostile. We didn't make an issue of it because we weren't there long but I believe it would have been dealt with it if I had raised it so it would be unfair to blame staff for it.

Really nice place to stay, more like a hotel feel than a hostel. It is rooms above a pub really, but very quiet. Kitchen pretty small and no common room either. Nice and clean room and bathrooms with lots of hot water.

great hostel in terms of the staff and the people i met there and i will be back...only thing is lacking is maybe a tv in the lounge area and a washing machine/dryer...but well worth a vist!

Great location coming from the airport on the train. Nice bar etc. Room was stuffy and smeltlike feet but thats the people staying theres problem.
The staff, particularly Kristy, was more helpful than any other hostel type accommodation I have stayed in before. Excellent food, nice bar, good rooms, and we walked away feeling very good that customer service hasn't been lost to the world after all!

We had a great time at Strattons and would definitely suggest travelers should stay here. The place was clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. The location was ideal and just around the corner from the train station. Also, the meal vouchers/coupons they provide helped cut the travel costs and the meals were pretty good. $4.95 for a meal is not bad! No complaints about Strattons, stay here!
Nice cheap place to stay, got a good night sleep. Loved the $5 steak
