very simple, not quite dirty but not overly clean, bright fluorescent lights and a smokey feeling. Staff is very friendly. Location is ten minute walk from all the action in Taksim. wi-fi is spotty. personally need something with more comfortable. Soledad, from USA ~ 21st May 2012

I had 5 fantastic days at Stray Cat to kick off my trip to Asia. The 2 main staffmember are very helpful & friendly - One of them took us with him to bars a couple of nights. Maybe I am old, but I was annoyed by the all-night-partying - every night. The rooms where not sound proof at all, so all the singing, music and shouting could be heard - from 10 in the evening until 4 in the morning. Also - I had hot water in the taps twice in 4 days 0 very cold showers, plus the place was infested with (real) stray cats. So Stray Cat hostel is something rare! It is a really nice place to stay if you, as I and my friend, need cheap beds with good location. We were there 5 nights. The staff was very sweet and helpful, the cats were cute (very cute when the kitten wanted to sleep on my laptop and pet all the time, not so cute when the same darling played with a gnawed off bone during breakfast). I can really recommend the location: 5 minutes to the tram, Taksim, cafes and the shore. Walking-distance to Istanbul Tinne, from Denmark ~ 6th Nov 2011
