This hostel would be perfect in the summer, but for the winter it is really far from Sydney and everything (including the hostel office) closes really early.
Hostel is quite far from City (1hr by bus) but if you want just to get away with great beachside and few cafe's restaurants in area it is the very relaxed chilled out area.

The Beachhouse was the first hostel i stayed in and i had the time of my life. i was only suppose to be there for a couple of weeks and ended up staying 7!! It was a very homely environment and i made alot of great friends there. i would definately go back there! We love Collaroy!!!

I really appreciated the personal service I received when trying to organize transportation to and from the airport. The staff was helpful and friendly. We were delighted to have the use of bike and boogy boards too!! Thank you! Shelley

Great hostel to chill out! Not recommended if you're wanting to be close to the city centre but great if you want nice beaches and somewhere to chill..
a really great hostel - relaxed fun and friendly atmosphere close to the beach with great facilities and spotlessly clean.
if you want to be on the beach this is great. larger kitchen with everything you need to prepare a meal. big dining area. the rooms felt clean and werent too cramped.
I decided to visit Sydney on a whim and in my rush just picked the highest ranked hostel in Sydney. Turns out it was a great choice! The place is great. The two blokes they've got running the "activities" are a riot as is Anita. I would highly recommend this hostel to anyone who is laid back and is looking for a relaxing stay. It is 45-60 minutes and $4.80 from downtown, and it's well worth it.

When we searched for a hostel at Bondi Beach, this one came up, we booked it in a rush, and only found out on arrival that it wasnt there! Nice hostel, but not much going on.
