Overall, it was value for money as the location was great and the condition of the hostel was satisfied. In addition to that, Ice and Jan were of great help as they provided more than enough vital information. I was pleased!

This hostel is perfectly located to go sightseeing, shop, and get back to the hostel late at night - the neighborhood feels very secure and it's centrally located near a really lively, bargain shopping area. Good food nearby too! There is free internet from 9 AM - 1 AM. Be aware, the rooms are very small - I stayed in a 4 person room and there was enough floor space for the suitcases, but not a whole lot more. I would recommend it as an inexpensive place to sleep, with a great location and best if you're primarily looking for a place to sleep.

I had a great time at taipei backpackers. The staff were friendly and always willing to offer advice or assistance. The rooms were very clean and the entire hostel seemed to be quite new. The bed wasn't the most comfortable. It was a thin foam mattress over a solid wood base. It wasn't uncomfortable enough to disturb my sleep. The area is interesting it has lots of great restaurants and a lively atmosphere. Make sure you get into downtown Taipei as well. It is a pleasant but long walk through parks and past some amazing old buildings (I forget wehat they were called), or a short trip in the pubic transport. Overall, an enjoyable experience. I would recoment this hostel.

This was a great place to stay. Jan is AMAZING! She stayed up all night and made sure I was up to catch my bus at 5:00 AM to the airport. The location is fantastic too, close to some of the major tourist sites listed in Lonely Planet. I highly recommend it!

Myself and my daughter stayed for 2 nights 1st and 2nd January. When we left on the 2nd January out key deposit was not returned. I paid the deposit and forgot to tell my daughter to have it returned. When she returned the key to reception the deposit was not returned.
