  • While booking the hotel, I looked at pictures from nice rooms. Not a wonderful hotel, but it looked clean and totally fair for the price. As we arrived, we get a very small room with a incredibly dirty bathroom. Seriously. I would prefer a clean bathroom, without hair from the people who used it before me and without mildew and dust (if the room has a heater: CLEAN IT!), than nice arranged towels. I don't even want to know what I slept on. Never again.

  • Location of the hostel is really good: close to all sightseeing things. But this is the only convincing aspect.

  • The woman receptionist was very unprofessional. She was a Black woman who was there when we first checked in. The rest of the staff we met in our stay was nice. She was just really rude. She was watching tv in the room across the hall from us. It seemed as though she was just hanging out watching tv.

  • The Hostel is very old, the staff wasn't very friendly and the room (double bed) is very small. Also, I left some coins and subway tolkens from my city (Philadelphia, not even Washington) and went to dinner. When I came back, the coins and tolkens were gone. Initially, I thought they had cleaned the room and picked as tip but they didn't had cleaned anything. It was about $12 in coins and tolkens. I don't recommend this hostel to anybody. The only good thing is the location.

  • I think that the hostel must be completely renovated in order to give more comfort, security and cleanliness.

  • Facilities could use an upgrade, as well as the general overall condition of the hostel itself.

  • there was a problem with the heating; the radiator couldn't be turned off so our room was very hot; the staff didn't seem eager to fix this problem. other guests seemed to have the same issue.

  • Great location. Only 5 minutes walk from the metro in a very safe neighborhood. Staff friendly and helpful on check in. Just be aware that the price listed on this website does NOT include taxes. Small room, but comfortable bed and a tv with tons of cable channels. Cleaned each day. Breakfast was simply bread and various spreads, and coffee.

  • Person on Saturday night/early morning Sunday very friendly and helpful. Person on duty Saturday afternoon (Feb.16) not friendly or welcoming. The room was terribly overheated from radiator and we had to turn on air conditioner (this is February). Also, the window shades did not keep out the bright street lights.

  • One of the worst hostels I have ever been in, cleanliness and facilities are pretty bad, hostel seriously needs renovation. Bugs in my room + breakfast table. Leaking sink in my room, floors are crooked, floors and walls are stained. Doors and carpet have holes. Location is good , the bathrooms are reasonably clean, staff is okay. Hairdryer on request, breakfast is okay- tea, coffee and toast. If you spend one or two nights just for sleeping its okay, otherwise look for something different!!

  • If you need a place to sleep when your itinerary at DC is outdoors MOST of the time, then this is a good place to bunk in. Its "inside" the George Washington university so you are near the cafeteria. Its also 3 blocks away from the nearest metro station (Foggy Bottom) so it is quite accessible. Don't expect luxury. Its just a place to sleep.

  • Paint on the inside and outside could go a long way. Better mattresses will go even farther. Also when I arrived, I was assigned to a room with already 4 people assigned. Talk about awkward. It was nice to bump me up to an single room, but I felt that was not an option at first.

  • The hotel would need a renovation very soon! The first thing we thought was that can only be a joke!! The staff was unfriendly. The woman behind the desk said, that if we book two beds we have no rights to get them in one room. That was very unfriendly because the half of the "hotel" was empty!! The windows had holes in it, that's why we could hear the street next to our heads. The radiator was rusty and disgusting! Well in the end we could say that the breakfast was the best!

Practically, Barcelona is a pretty easy city to navigate on foot or by public transport with a well laid-out grid system for the streets and a simple metro system. Here's an example of what you can do with 24 hours and a T10 (10 journey) metro ticket.
