The Alternative Hostel of Old Montreal in Mangaia Island, Canada

I found the Alternative a very friendly "boutique" hostel. The bi-lingual staff was friendly and helpful. The wooden bunk beds were wonderfully secure and quiet. I stayed in one of the six-room dorms and slept very well across three nights. The kitchen was fine, with a cheap breakfast each day and all you would need for home cooking, if you buy or bring your own provisions. The neighborhood is not so cheap, in terms of restaurants and bars, but very pretty and truly at the center of things. Li Maury, from USA ~ 23rd Nov 2011

Great people.My blanket was kinda small.The showers had mould growing.The free coffee and tea was a nice touch.I was lucky to be there with so many cool travellers from all over.The staff were really cool.I'll see you guys next time I'm in Montréal! Ryan, from Canada ~ 22nd Mar 2011
